Position DescriptionMaterial & Equipment ManagerVee-Jay is a concrete contracting company with a passion and understanding of the construction industry and the tools to accomplish the job. This position is responsible for the overall management of the yard for Vee-Jay Cement Contracting. Key Activities:--- Procurement, Warehousing, & Distribution--- Equipment & Tool Management--- Facilities Management--- Inventory OversightResponsibilities:--- Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow. Revises schedule according to work order specifications, established priorities and availability or capability of workers and equipment.--- Supervise, mentor and coach yard personnel as it relates to company policies and procedures.--- Ensure high level of safety adherence to safety policies and procedures for yard personnel. --- Monitor weekly & monthly inventory reports and analysis of usage. --- Work closely with Cost team to ensure proper monthly billing for equipment and tools. --- Maintains communications with Shop Manager to ensure a maintenance plan for all tools and equipment is in enforced. ---Provide oversight of equipment inventory management to reduce theft, loss, and increase equipment utilization. --- Researches new tools, equipment, and methods to increase material/equipment inventory control and equipment usage. --- Identify and implement new work processes where needed.Direct Reports:--- 1st and 2nd Shift Yard Supervisors--- Service Manager (Equipment Repair & Maintenance)--- Warehouse Manager
