Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Medical-Surgical Trauma Job Duration: 13 weeks (option for a 26-week contract upon request) Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30) Guaranteed Hours: Yes Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Pending license accepted, but a valid license is required prior to the job start Certifications: BCLS required Must-Have: Experience with EPIC charting system Job Description: - Manage a patient ratio of 1:4-5 in a Level I Trauma Center. - Perform blood product administration and peripheral line care/management. - Conduct phlebotomy and start IVs for patient treatments. - Administer medications, including insulin and manage PCA. - Provide care for patients with spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, orthopedic trauma, and total joint replacements. - Handle peripheral nerve block catheters, surgical drains, and chest tubes. - Utilize CPAP/BiPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), nasal cannula, oral suctioning, oxygen face masks, and portable oxygen tanks. - Implement isolation precautions, wound care, and operate wound vacs. - Utilize special equipment such as lifts, restraints, wound vacs, traction, and external fixators. - Ensure weekend work every other weekend as part of the rotation. - Float within the scope of practice to meet facility needs. - Join a Magnet & Teaching hospital with extensive facilities and capabilities. - Maintain professionalism with less than 3 tardies and 2 call-ins per 13-week contract to prevent potential cancellation. Travelers will float within the service line and should indicate interest in a longer contract if desired.
